Camp Air (2024)

a pop-up educational institution for 30 days in Woodstock, NY during September 2024.

We cultivated a basis of

time in nature
meditative practice
conceptual art exercises
moments of childlike wonder

to research the nature of reality through the architecture our minds.

One of the subjects was 002 Fasting from Time, where the residents agreed to explore the topic by reorienting our understanding of it.

In this case, we decided to fast or remove any clocks in the Gregorian form. Then, we had to use the physical environment to tell time, our bodies for nutrition and tiredness, and the sun for the time of day.

The Subject lasts 3 days, within the subject we created smaller exercises to explore and document the transformation of our personal understanding of said subjects.

Then we collected lessons and reflections for the topic of 002 Fasting from Time in Are.na . The idea is anyone can add and synthesize from these studies, collectively sculpting our understanding of these themes in a way.

We refer to these as reality exercises, as these constructs of reality are typically accepted without question. However, the space and curriculum at Camp Air were designed to challenge our understanding of reality. The aim is to evaluate whether the ideas we've been taught to accept are entirely beneficial. We explore what aspects can be retained and which parts can be modified to make our lives more meaningful and delightful.

In this way, we are slowly redacting or editing our perspective, and therefore reality.
